Who I am
I am an author, and this is my author website, a home for all readers to keep up with updates, new book products, and early access opportunities. My website address is: https://rmkrogman.com.
Newsletter
When visitors sign up for the newsletter, data will be collected from the signup form, including the visitor’s email address and name, in order to send the visitor regular email updates.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, data will be collected from the comment form, including the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on the site, you may opt-in to saving your name and email address in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for 347 days.
If you visit a post, several temporary cookies will be set to remember the last few posts visited. These are for your convenience so that you can easily pick up reading a post where you left off. These cookies last for 347 days.
If you opt-out of the newsletter pop-up invitation, a cookie will be set to remember your opt-out. This is for your convenience so you don’t get asked multiple times.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies will also be set up to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Who your data may be shared with
If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.
If you complete a form, your form entry details may be included in a confirmation email.
How long your data may be retained
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that sign up for a newsletter or register on the website, personal information they provide in their user profile is also stored. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that any personal data that is held about you be erased. This does not include any data kept for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data may be sent
Visitor comments and form submissions may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
