January was exciting because I not only had all my Christmas book haul to gather up like a hoarding dragon, but ALSO my birthday book haul.
I resolved to read a lot more in the fantasy genre. I soaked it all up like a sponge when I was a kid, but adulting…well, adulting sucks. I am intentionally taking time to read more now, and it makes me very happy.
My followers on Facebook and Instagram voted for my 2023 Reading Plan and came up with the following reading list:
- The Lies of Locke Lamora – Scott Lynch
- The Wayfarer Redemption – Sarah Douglass
- Earthsea – Ursula LeGuin
- The Dragon in the Sword – Michael Moorcock
- Fool’s Errand – Robin Hobb
- Sword of Shannara – Terry Brooks
- Gardens of the Moon – Steven Erikson
- Wizard’s First Rule – Terry Goodkind
- The Darkness that Comes Before – Scott R. Bakker
- Well of Darkness – Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
- The Neverending Story – Michael Ende
- The Dragonbone Chair – Tad Williams
- Ghost King – David Gemmell
- The Last Sacrifice – James A. Moore
- Lythande – Marion Zimmer Bradley
- Dinosaur Planet Survivors – Anne McCaffrey
In addition to this lovely list, I am squeezing in a variety of independently-published e-books, mostly Advance Reader Copies.
That means that I provide an honest review of that book to help the author out. You can see all of my book reviews on my Instagram or Facebook pages.
I take as many ARCs as I can and plan to squeeze them in between the novels listed above. What do you think of my reading plan?
